2019 : Goals!

By: Erin Rose Hennessy and Emily Eileen Moreshead

The year 2018 is almost over and 2019 is almost upon us. It’s a time for self-reflection and new beginnings. With a brand-new year coming up quickly, we thought we’d take some time to write about our personal goals for 2019.

Erin: One of my goals for 2019 is to live more in the moment. Spend less time worrying about work stuff or why I don’t have a life partner yet or why insurance companies seem to make everyone miserable, and spend more time focusing on where I am and what I am doing right now.

Emily: Since becoming younger hasn’t been figured out yet I am hoping that I stay in good health as I age. We don’t tend to think about that much in our twenties and most of our thirties but it’s important to keep my mind and body as healthy as I can despite the occasional candy or Dorito craving.

Erin: I think that’s a great thing to strive towards as well. I’m also aiming to eat healthier – cutting pop and candy out of my diet. I also want to bike and walk more, especially in the summer but even in the winter I could stand to exercise more! I love biking in the summer and I feel like this year I slacked a little on that – so next year, more biking!

Emily: Hopefully the winter weather won’t dampen my spirits too much but I’m hoping to write more and maybe explore other opportunities beyond the desk job. I also want to try to save more money and find ways to make more money.

Erin: I also want to be more patient and go-with-the flow. I’m a perfectionist and pretty picky about how certain things go, so I’d like to work on being more relaxed about things and letting things happen as they are intended to. It won’t be easy and there will still be times I need to be a perfectionist, but gotta start somewhere!

The beginning of a new year always holds such great expectations and so much promise. Let’s at least say cheers to the hopeful unknown and pray for a peaceful, profitable, and safe 2019.
